Editorial – Has Mr Jingles Had a John Hewson Moment?

Have you ever played fetch with a dog and pretended to throw the ball for the dog to chase? The first time you do it, the dog cheerfully bolts off to ‘retrieve’ the ball. Then, after about 20 metres, it stops – confused as to where the ball is. After a bit of sniffing around, it ruefully trots back to you with no idea of what happened and how the ball ended up back in your hands.

Amused by the whole affair, you do it again with the same result. However, after about the third or fourth time, the dog is on to your charade. As you ‘throw’ the ball, it now just sits there looking at you – wondering when you’re going to stop taking it for a fool and just throw the damn thing.

Savva Goes Off the Deep End

I’ve never been a fan of Niki Savva’s columns. Her writing style is horribly stilted, difficult to read and always seems out of place in The Australian. Why anyone would buy her new book is beyond me for this reason alone. Of course, the scandalous, baseless and vengeful slop she’s written about Tony Abbott and Peta Credlin is an even bigger reason.

Update -‘Safe Schools Coalition’ Program to be Reviewed

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about the ‘All of Us’ teaching program created by the ‘Safe Schools Coalition’ – which is being funded by the federal government to the tune of $8 million and rolled out in schools across the country (around 490 of them so far).

At first glance, you could be forgiven for thinking that it’s all about keeping children safe. Not quite. In it’s current form, it’s actually a sickening, agenda-driven LGBTI program which, among other things, involves material such as the following:

It’s an absolute pleasure to have the current political conversation flatulating around the edges of the government’s revenue sources – and the get-rich-quick schemes that could be used to extract more money out of us. Meanwhile, $40 billion annual deficits are still being cranked out (see also above graph) and our $400 billion debt will be added to for years to come.

I usually refrain from critiquing things that Bill Shorten says or does – because it involves either something completely unintelligible or a hackneyed sound bite designed to crudely grab at the lowest denominator. Editorial – Turnbull Encourages Business Fraud

As part of Turnbull’s $1.1 billion ‘everyone put your thinking hats on’ plan, the bankruptcy period will be reduced from three years to one year.

The bankruptcy system is already a government created fantasy which allows people to recklessly stink at business (or swindle other people’s money), hide the loot, take a bankruptcy breather for three years while the ‘official’ assets are handed out at cents in the dollar – and then get straight back on the horse again like nothing ever happened (or simply retire to Mallorca, take your pick).
